Raising the Bar: Getting Started with Data Visualizations

What is data visualization, and what are the benefits of using data visualization software? How do we get started? What are some tips and tricks for new users?

Zach will discuss answers to all of these questions at his presentation on May 21. Although Tableau is the primary software that comes to mind, Zach will mention other options, as well. We will begin by discussing free avenues for those facing budget restrictions.

About the Presenter:

Zachary Howe

Zachary Howe is the Insurance Operations Accounting Manager for M&T Insurance Agency. He has been in the insurance industry since 2018 and worked in higher education for the previous 8 years. Zach has been a self-proclaimed Excel junkie for much of his career. In 2018, he started using visual analytic software to enhance his reporting. He has won M&T Bank's Viz Games and has co-presented at Tableau’s inaugural online conference for the Financial Services industry.

A native of Western New York, Zach holds degrees in Accounting and Marketing from Central Washington University, as well as an Executive MBA from the University at Buffalo. He currently resides in Kenmore, NY with his wife, Katie, and their 80lb dog, Buddy.
